Bristol Radical Film Festival Screening

Bristol Radical Film Festival screening: Big Boys Gone Bananas (Fredrik Gertten, Sweden, 2012, 90 mins) with introduction by Humberto Perez-Blanco, March 2nd, 8pm at the Cube Cinema

Following the release of his film “Bananas”, which exposed the malpractice of the Dole Food company, filmmaker Fredrik Gertten comes under attack, with Dole filing a lawsuit against him and his film. Using their multimillion dollar legal team and host of friends within the corporate media, this film shows the savage influence of corporations and how they wage war against those who stand up to them.

The Bristol Radical Film Festival is an annual event showcasing some of the most politically and socially engaged filmmaking from around the world. Taking place over the course of a week (25th Feb- 3rd March 2013), the festival tours a variety of community-based venues before culminating in a weekend of talks, screenings and debates at Bristol’s volunteer-run and not-for-profit cinema, The Cube.

All events during the week are free. Sessions at The Cube ask a small fee but no one will be turned away for lack of funds. For information visit www.bristolradicalfilm.org.uk and find us on FaceBook and Twitter.
